You're question wasn't rude Brunick, but in rereading my response, I may have been rude. Please accept my apologies! This is a bit of a sore spot for me...

Yards are releasing images, specs and press kits on yachts to internet websites that have no business being in the business. These boats take highly skilled engineers and craftsmen several hundred thousand man hours to complete, then all of this love and labor is discounted when a website does nothing more than publish a glorified press release with lots of pretty pictures.

Many yards are failing to understand that if they don't maintain carefully selected media partners, then the image and perception (read: value!) of their products can become diluted and ultimately; devalued.

Hey, didn't we discuss that last night? Now mind your manners and stop bumping the guy behind you. :D

That's what a pitcher of Petron-laced margaritas will do to you. Ah, spreading the Holiday cheer. :p

Perhaps. But most media reports of that era attributed ownership of that yacht to Diana Ross. There was also another big motor yacht cruising French Polynesia in those days whose name I cannot quite recall though. Never having worked on any "celebrity-owned" yachts, I think it would have been a more interesting experience to work aboard Diana Ross' yacht, as opposed to working for a reclusive Italian multi-millionaire (back in the late '80s, I reckon you'd have only needed a net worth of US$ 150-250 millions to belong to what is today's "billionaire club").

The yacht I worked on lost both their chief engineer due to a heart-attack and crew steward having mysteriously fallen overboard whilst in Whangarei NZ over a 2 month period back then. All these years later, I find myself at the same age as the chief engineer. And so far as I'm concerned, it was the chef who was responsible for the death of the crew steward, though nothing can ever be proved. Merry Xmas Heini and Jack. And to you all here in YF. I take my leave for a few weeks.
