    Bahia Mar Line Up

At the head of the line up we have Deep Blue a 143' Oceanco yacht built in 1996 that accommodates 10 passengers with the help of 9 crew in the lap of luxury surrounded by a clean contemporary high style interior.

I just love all the pointy bows and radar arches in our line up of fantasy yachts fit for the Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. Were is that Robin with my champagne and caviar when you need him? :)

Emerging from underneath the Las Olas Bridge is Lady Val a 128' x 26' x 8' Northcoast yacht completed in 2001 who carries 8 passengers and 7 crew with a peaceful luxury yacht vacation feel.

The 4th shot shows a space in the lineup next to the brokers floating pavilion where more megas will moor.

The last pic is but one of multiple cocktail barges that will soon be brimming over with dare I imagine it, dare I say it ....... drunken sailors! :p

For the past few years I've enjoyed Tom's coverage and great shots. Now, with discokachina involved I feel like I've been there sans the crowds. You two are doing an exceptional job of covering this. I'll give a little extra kudos to Tom for the artistry and a little extra to discokachina for the camera angles, comentary and for seeming to be everywhere. You two make quite a pair. Thanks to both. This is the best coverage I can remember. Looking forward to more. BTW, anybody have a spare few million. I'm getting tempted. Hopefully a lot of others will be too. Looks like it will be a great show.

    Allure Shadow

Got some shots of Allure Shadow today. She is one serious shadow or exploration vessel.

One of her crew told me her crane can lift 35 tons!
Now tell me how many of you have a toy that weights that much??

He said they have had as many as 5 boats loaded on her deck and in her garage at one time. Now that is some serious toy haulin!

    Kismet

Now how is this for a couple of nice bookends??!!

I just can't decide, do I want a yacht with a blue or grey hull????

I love the choice of verandahs you have on Kismet.
One with a jaccuzi and bar, one with an open bar and an assortment of lounge chairs, one with alfresca dining for 12, or one with a bar and banquett seating for 12 or more?

If you get tired of hanging out in the breeze you can always retire into one of her many interior lounges and listen to the grand piano while having your cocktails!

Her super cool radar arch is the icing on the cake, oops I mean the icing on the Kismet! :)

Love the sun-shades on the aft decks of "Kismet". Never seen them before, probably are new or recent. Thanks so much for the photos discokachina.

    Ed,
Thank you (and Ron and Carl and disco, etc) for the very kind words. I know what it's like being far away and dreaming of being at a show like this. Now that I'm here, I'm happy to share with fellow YF'ers.
What you said (and that it may rain here the next few evenings) was the inspiration to get out and grab some night shots. Tough going with the show still being put together, docks rocking and wind a little breezy. But still able to get some to share.
Here's a bunch from the Benetti flock.

Feadship has some cool models on display, and a few real yachts too.

Oceanco's models seem to be built to the same standards as their full sized floaters.

    Models at Amels display.

Some real Perini Navi's. Photos may look a little distorted but most of them were shot with a wide angle lens.

Hey, it's not just a boat show. It's a car show, submarine show and a helicopter show all disguised as a boat show.

Okay, it's late, but I had a good reason. Any time you get a chance to sit and chat with the legendary David Marlow of Marlow Yachts, you take that opportunity. I'll spare the photo as we were both looking a bit worn for the day.
    See you on the docks.

By the looks of the thread, and specifically the images, Disco is covering the day shift, and Capt. Tom *only* comes out at night.

Nice work boys. Schedule prevents be from being there, so this is a nice substitute.

Thanks CaptTom your nite shots are awesome! I still have not figured out how you get them so clear, I shake too much, especially after the sun passes over the yardarm!

They really showoff the advances that have been made in yacht lighting design and the use of LEDs.

Some are kind of Spooky, just in time for Haloween!!

    Don't Fence Me In

Behind the security ring, chain link fence, and barbed wire of Port Everglades we find Rising Sun, Samar, and Pegasus V waiting to be unbridled.

At least Samar has a helio on board should someone need to make a fast trip to Publix without going through Port Security.

I am embarrassed that such gorgeous mega yachts have to be relagated to the far reaches of our not so elegant commercial port when they come to our fair city for a visit.

It would be nice if the Port would remodel the area just South of the 17th Street Causeway Bridge for yachts such as these so they could be surrounded by palm trees instead of cement silos and crane gantries.

Nevertheless these yachts are still creatures of beauty and wonder! ;)

    Northern Star, Best In Show?

Here are some shots of Northern Star.

The more I look at her the more in love I fall!

Her proportions, lines, symmetry, and detailing are just astounding. From every angle she looks super fine.

As you walk around her and on top of her you realize that she is stupendous from all perspectives.

From her curvaceous bow, to her perfectly proportioned radar arch, to the stainless and paint details on her bow, she is flawless! I think she just might be my Best In Show!! ;)

    Northern Star, Best In Show?

Here are some more shots of Northern Star. Additional evidence that she deserves bragging rights as Best In Show!

Even her Seadoos are mounted in perfect symmerty!

All of her stainless is flawless from her chain yankers, rubrails, cleats, to her bell she rings my chimes!

And how do you know that you have a big........... yacht? When your fenders are as big as your crew, that's when!!

    Hi,

That may be the case but what do you think of the deck hose left abandoned on the foredeck not far from the dockline rubbing on the painted edge of the pseudo wavebreak behind the Capstan?

CaptTom, your night shots can't be beat.

And thanks for the webcam links Yacht News.

disco, I will reserve my final vote until I get to see even more, hopefully,
