    Marina Mar Is Busy Today

There is lots of activity at Marina Mar today! So far over 25 boats have been loaded into the docks: 60-132, Alexandra Bear, Big Play, Black Pearl, Blue Star, Champagne Cher, Golden Gate, Harbour Island, Idyllwild, J Sea, Lights Out, Lochiel, Marika, Misunderstood, Montage, Moon Goddess, Parlay, Reel Attitude, Sealyon, Seaowl, Seascape, Shooting Star, Silver Shalis, Temptation, Tenacity, and Tranquility,

There are more yachts coming down the New River and the Intracoastal headed towards the show too. The natives are getting restless!!

I've been watching the port everglades webcam enjoying a few of the vessels coming in for the show. I just saw M/Y Freedom, a 108' Hargrave, get towed in through the inlet by two sea tow boats. Not a good way to start off the show. It is on the market for $5.3m and is powered by Cat C-32s.

Are you sure "Felicita West" is the largest sail yacht in the world? what happened to "Maltese Falcon", "Athena", "Eos" and company?

I got that info from Felicita West - Overview which was created in 2006. Apparently those bragging rights did not last for very long.

According to another site she is now number 10.

I apologize for not fact checking my post. :(

All I can say is WOW, Totally Awesome, Nite time shots are so hard to take without being out of focus and you did them perfectly! And on the bridge with the traffic causing massive vibration.. Did you use a tripod? Lookin forward to more great pics of the show. I will be there Friday and hope to get some worth posting. Keep'em coming everyone!! :D

Spectacular night shots, as usual Tom. At first, one might think Photoshop, but I know it was Pelican Lemonade. ;)

Have fun at the show everyone. I wish I could be there, so I'll have to be content to follow this subject thread...and great photos.

I've actually stayed away from boat shows for the last 2 years, feeling it might be a bit depressing considering this whole economy worldwide. Several weeks ago I broke down and attended the Annapolis Sailboat Show. It was great weather, and fun renewing some old friendships from the industry. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of companies that have managed to survive this economy.

    D,
You know the drill. That bridge was shaking on Saturday night, with the traffic and the wind was pretty gusty up there. Definitely need to use a tripod. With it extended to shoot over the railing it would vibrate from the wind so had my share of blurry pics. Did have to shoot lower through the railing a few times.
Here are two more, from sea level.

Thanks Bro. Imagine how much better these shots would be if we had multiple lemonades? Oh yeah, no PS here.

    North End of the Show

I was walking the dock at the very North end of the show today and found these babies getting ready for the show. Pic 3 is Castaway and 4 is Sugar Too. Sorry I did not get all their names. :(

The girl in the first and second picture is doing the polish and buff ballet on point. Would you just take a look at those gams. Oh, and you thought this show was meant to be all about the yachts... :p

The last boat looks like she could be the fastest boat in the show! ;)

    Here Is The Line Up!

This series of shots begins just South of the Las Olas Bridge and continues South to the end of the Bahia Mar Show site. Many of the biggies that have less than a 12 ft draft are part of this stupendous line up. There are several slots to the left of the broker barges and behind the 2 story Sunseeker pavillion that are yet to be loaded so there are still a few more suspects to arrive.
