Shame she was down so long. Tough to get them back together after being under water for almost 2 months.

    1973 56' Matthews "JOY SEA"

Here are some recent pictures after a nine month refit in Miami. Still working on the interior, but the heavy lifting is done on the exterior.

Very pretty. Looks like a lot of love went into it as well as a good amount of labor and expense. Nice going.

This is the first time I have seen an extended deck house version of this model, is she very rare?

The work was done at the old Consolidated Yard on the Miami River at NW 11th St. and at the Merrill Stephens yard which is now owned by John Spencer. There are several photos of her on his website. I did all of the interior joinery after we replaced all the salon and forward cabin windows. The window replacement has solved the leaking that has plagued the boat since it was launched in late 1973.

for the purchase price of 6.6 million compared to the mortgage it had of 25 million it was a good deal. The place needs alot of work, I hope it gets done. it's in my back yard I wish it the best

    Matthews love and addiction

This was purchased in 85 which at the time her home was the Port Clinton factory. She was named the Amen!

Hello hemisboats, Welcome to YachtForums. She sure is a handsome yacht. The amount of hull hanging off the front strap of that lift makes me nervous though.

Thanks! The boat is my fathers and has had several rebuilt sections over his 24 year ownership of this particular Matthews.

Bare with me on pictures, I'm learning. These were all 2010 pictures. People in them are all family, we had a Matthews all my life, 48 years!

    They'll always bring you home!!
