  1. Tankoa Yachts Unveil Sportiva 55
Something new has been unveiled by Tankoa Yachts. In a live zoom event the yard recently unveiled renders for the Sportiva 55 which is a 55-meter superyacht belonging to the new Linea Line of superyachts the yard is offering to customers. The largest of the Linea Line should be around 65-meters while the smallest yacht will be 45-meters. We will be focusing on the 55-meter specimen in this article. Overall the design by Luca Dini appears to fall in line with alot of what this yard has been doing in the last few years but there are some key additions and features that will make this new boat appear different for a vessel in the 50 to 55-meter range.
  2. One of these new features is actually already implemented on two superyachts...namely, the Feadship "Savannah" and the A&R "Elandess". Yes you guessed it correctly...a Nemo room is featured onboard the Sportiva 55. The glass is visible on the aft starboard side of the hull in an area where a beach club might be (only this is partially below the waterline). It is unclear whether the glazing feature is on the port side as well. As we know from the images published about these rooms onboard the previously mentioned sueperyachts, this should be no less stunning on the Sportiva 55.
  3. Another feature is on the forward main deck and is actually the master suite. A full-beam master suite is the norm these days but it is the outdoor balcony/terrace space off the master suite that makes this space quite incredible. Based on the renderings we can assume that this large terrace is located only on the starboard side. It offers the owner a jacuzzi tub, built-in seating and direct access via a curved stairs to the bow and foredeck area. The tub appears to be part of the interior as it can be encapsulated by full-height curved glass panels which can be slid back to make the jacuzzi feel like part of the terrace.
  4. The foredeck however, will be home to the yacht's tenders catered to by a dedicated crane. We see a 7-meter guest tender, a smaller crew tender and a PWC being kept in this location. Storage here free's up the aft lower deck space considerably allowing many of the features you see envisioned there by Luca Dini and Tankoa. There is also sunbed real estate on the fore deck right ahead of the bridge created for those unrestricted sightlines.
  5. On the opposite end of the vessel, the stern beach club area is situated on two levels of the aft deck. As you can see in the renderings, the beach club encompasses the majority of the aft of the vessel for use when at anchor. The center piece of this area is a center line sunken pool. While the render isn't clear in showcasing it, there does appear to be access to the nemo room below to provide guests with underwater views. Atop the fairled there is space left for cushions to be laid out for alternate places to relax.
  6. Other relaxing spaces onboard include the bridge deck. It has a sky lounge, an extendable table for al fresco dining and lounging space on the aft deck. The sun deck is partially shaded by the hard top and features a wet bar by the forward hot tub and plenty of sun lounging space. With a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, the Sportiva 55 has a top speed of 16.5-knots and a cruising speed of 15-knots. Her range at an economic speed of 12-knots is 3,800 nautical miles. Tankoa says you can have this vessel installed with hybrid propulsion if an owner desires. The owner can choose from a four cabin layout on the lower deck with the master suite on the main deck or can add a fifth cabin on the lower deck if required. With hybrid propulsion installed the yard says it will allow for more room. The engine room can be moved forward so the four guest cabins on the lower deck have direct access to the spa and beach club.
