  1. New Build: Mulder "Favorite" Series
    ‘Ode to the Favorite Cruiser’

One of the leading exponents of premium Dutch yacht building, Mulder Shipyard was established in 1938 by Dirk Mulder senior. With a member of the Mulder family still at the helm today, the yard can attribute its excellent reputation not only to the superb custom-built yachts it has launched, but also to the classic Super Favorite and Favorite Superior cruisers. Many of these motoryachts still grace Dutch and international waters today.

Mulder Shipyard was established seventy years ago this year and to mark this auspicious occasion the yard has decided to breath new life into the Mulder Favorite. Originally introduced in the 1950s, an all-new aluminum version will be launched in 2010 and be produced in a limited edition. The 21st-century Mulder Favorite will be available in three types - 1400, 1500 and 1600 – and built to stunning new designs developed in close cooperation with Guido de Groot and Vripack Naval Architects. Distinguishing features include smooth retro lines and a steep bow.
  2. The yachts will be available with either a round-bilged or a hard chine hull and fitted with two engines. There is a wide array of engines to choose from, ranging from 2x 150 hp to 2x 435 hp. Its round-bilged shape makes the yacht ideal for comfortable cruising from 10 to 25 knots.
  3. The Mulder Favourite 1400 that is currently under construction will be equipped with a double Volvo IPS600 system (435 hp) and has a hard chine hull with spray rails, giving her a maximum speed of up to 35 knots. Also under construction is a Mulder Favourite 1500 with a round-bilged hull and a conventional propeller shaft system, powered by two Volvo D6 engines of 330 hp each. The aft lazarette provides ample space for a three-metre tender.
  4. All yachts built at Mulder Shipyard are developed in close cooperation with the client and this will also apply to the new Mulder Favorite range. The 1400 currently under construction, for example, will feature a stylish cherry interior with panel covered doors, a wengé floor and sofas upholstered with luxury leather.
  5. The two new Mulder Favorites are expected to be unveiled at the HISWA Amsterdam Seaport Boatshow 2010. In addition to the launch of the new yachts, Mulder Shipyard will be celebrating the 25th time it has participated at this leading boat show.
