  1. Cheoy Lee's 107 Explorer, Coming in 2022
Cheoy Lee is currently working on a 107-foot Explorer that is supposed to be due for later in 2022. We will look at the new vessel and see what it is bringing to the table by the end of this year. Despite being a explorer type yacht the vessel is being built to a design by Jon Overing of Overing Yacht Designs with a fast displacement hull. A bulb is fitted to the round-bilge hull to improve efficiencies.
  2. The Cheoy Lee 107 Explorer will be built to promote self-sufficiency while voyaging to the farthest corners of the globe, assured by leading expedition yacht builder Cheoy Lee’s 150-year shipbuilding tradition, combined with the family-run company’s continuous adoption of the latest industry-leading technology. Given the type of builder and also the history the yard, the construction and process is rugged and commercial-based. The 107 Explorer is equipped with commercial-level systems and machinery designed for reliability, ease of maintenance and service. Stowage space also is maximized throughout this well-laid-out explorer yacht, including huge freezers, dry provisions and frozen waste storage compartments on the lower level.
  3. Construction is being made in steel for the hull and aluminium for the superstructure to follow Lloyds ✠ 100A1 SSC Yacht Mono G6 + LMC, UMS. The design is by Jon Overing on the exterior as well but the interior is the work of Sylvia Bolton Designs. There are four decks with accommodation spread between the lower, main and upper decks. The master suite is on the aft upper/bridge deck with a large centerline bed. The foyer separates the master suite area from the wheelhouse. A Guest VIP cabin along with the captain's cabin are located on the forward main deck. The remainder three cabins are on the lower deck. That rounds out accommodation for ten guests in five cabins. Six to eight crew members are also taken care of.
  4. The vessel is expected to be spacious and has the feel of senior vessel. The main salon, formal dining salon, galley and huge aft-deck dining area will convince guests they are on board a much larger yacht and given the the dimensions on offer it won't be hard convincing them. The vessel's length is 32.76-meters with a 7.92-meter beam and a 2.6-meter draft. Top speed is anticipated to be 13-knots and fast cruise at 12-knots thanks to a pair of 750-bhp Cummins diesels. At 10-knots the range is easily 4,500 nautical miles.
  5. Noted features that can be expected aboard the Cheoy Lee 107 Explorer include a jacuzzi, master suite on the upper aft deck with 180 degree views. An expansive flybridge awaits guests with a commanding view of the surrounding vistas. It is also home to the secondary helm position. The jacuzzi and layout pads are also on this deck. A sizable bar is midship and a day head to service the deck so guests don't have to unnecessarily go downstairs just to use the bathroom. The aft decks are comfortable too with direct access to the semi-sheltered swim platform.
  6. The Cheoy Lee 107 Explorer is one of several new vessels the yard is offering. This one hull 5200 is perhaps the only one from this model currently in build. For potential owners this is the perfect -just above entry-level- vessel for globe-trotting. Highly capable with decent range and storage, extended bluewater cruising can be undertaken. Once the construction schedule is being maintained, look out for the 107 Explorer from Cheoy Lee towards the end of the Summer period.
