    Hi everybody,
I’m Luca, a Stanford student working on a project all about boats and innovation—and as someone who loves the sea, rivers and lakes and everything about boating, I figured there’s no better way to learn than from the people who know it best!
I’m looking to connect with people like you to hear your stories, thoughts, and ideas about boats, yachts and boating. Whether it’s your favorite part of being on the water, challenges you’ve faced, or just what you’d love to see improved, your input would be a huge help in shaping my project.
If you’re up for it, I’d love to have a quick chat (15–20 minutes). We could hop on a call, Zoom, or even exchange messages—whatever works best for you.
This is a passion project for me, and I really want to make sure it reflects the real experiences of people who live and love the boating life. Let me know if you’d be open to sharing your thoughts. I’d truly appreciate it!
Thanks so much, and hope to hear from you soon!
    Cheers,

    Luca

The answers to your questions are contained in thousands of threads on this forum as well as other boating forums on the internet. It would be best to disclose the nature of your project so readers can decide if this is something they want to invest their time on.

    Thank you,

I know there is a huge quantity of information out there, the problem is that the course being Design Thinking requires the student to perform primary research (speaking with people) and not secondary research (looking through information available).

The starting focus is to understand how a person select a boat to buy, which expectation the person has and then which expectation are satisfied by the boat purchased and which not.
Obviously I hope the discussion then develop into what is good and what can be better in the boating experience (from start to end) and I am personally interested also identify new trends potential and limitations (for example electric or hybrid propulsion vs diesel engines and other similar topics) to understand where the technology is going and will go.
The fact is that as per Design Thinking methodology i am supposed to not steer the conversation versus pre-determined topics in the first phases to let the experience of the user speak instead of trying to confirm my own hypotesis. I know that it will have more appeal if it was more up to a specific point but is part of the exercise.
