  1. Proof that Content Matters!

Launched 14 years ago as the first online yachting magazine, YachtForums has attracted some of the most experienced people in yachting. The passion of seasoned owners, captains, engineers and well-informed enthusiasts has created the biggest resource in yachting. Even with competition from pop-social medias like Facebook and the abundance of websites competing for viewer interest, YachtForums continues to add upwards of 1000 new members each month. Over the years, we've learned a lot about reader interest because forums have 'view counters', recording the level of reader interest on reviews, news pieces, features and discussion threads. Most websites DON'T DARE show this because their numbers are dismal. Pop-medias are great for funny pics and ad-libs, but when you're looking for pre-purchase opinions and advice, we ALL turn to forums. Forums are the original social media and have evolved into information powerhouses driven by the collective knowledge of experienced users. YachtForums is proof that a targeted social media attracts readers with a serious interest.

  2. We don't make up fancy charts with pie-in-the-sky numbers. We publish actual screen shots of our control panel. The majority of our traffic comes from keyword searches in Google, so we know our visitors have more than a passing interest in our topic, unlike Facebook where pics are shared among people who don't have the interest or means. Let's face it, nobody goes to Facebook to research a buying decision. We all use Google and smart buyers go to forums!

This is YF's Webalizer through September of 2017. In August, we recorded 887,430 visitors (number on upper right quadrant of Webalizer). Our traffic is very steady, unlike websites that use funny pics, viral videos or constant mailers to bring traffic back to their site. We only mail to our members once a quarter because we respect their inbox!
