    Can anyone tel me how to take a Vetus MTC 125 ram apart.

    Purchasing a new ram would be cheaper than the tool and kit.

    There are special non crushing bars that unscrew the caps of the end of the tube.
    Pipe wrench in a vice will destroy the assembly.

    Most steering rams are pretty similar in construction and design. Really not worth repairing as the parts and tools cost more than a new ram. The only good investment is a decent bleed set to get any air out of the system.

    This and re-sealing an old ram, 50% time it will still leak as the shaft gets micro scratches in it that eat up the new seals.....honing the shaft sometimes makes it too thin and it leaks to. Buy a new one!
