I am looking at a Superhawk 48/50. I would appreciate any info on the difference between the Volvo w outdrives versus the Yanmar with Tri-max Drives with the 2 speed transmissions. One better than the other ? Issues ? is there a good source to discuss these packages ?
I have been driving a 50 with the 2-speed and eventhough it is pretty fast, I think it is not so easy to handle, and you must be aware of what you are doing when shifting gears. (And when shifting drivers).
I had no issues, but you must remember when to shift up and down, I think you should be below 1500 rpm when shifting down. And in port I prefer normal drives...
