Anyone heard about this, a yacht called "Calamaba" ran aground in Sardinia. The mishap apparently happened last weekend and involved this Riva 85 Opera model. The owner and wife with a few guests were said to be aboard at the time. The yacht ended up on rocks overnight and though there was visible damage below the waterline, no pollution or major environmental damage happened. The yacht was swiftly removed from the rocks according to local reports. The reason for the yacht hitting rocks isn't conclusive as yet though the reason floating around is that the boar may have snapped anchor. Photos By : scudocorretora & yachting_concept

I'm pretty sure it's because there was not enough water above them.

Yep it appears that way to me as well but I was only saying what the rumour to the cause was.

I saw other pictures of the Riva which shows both its anchor in place. https://www.ligurianautica.com/merca...sinitro/26485/

Also the damage in the hull shows it to be parallel to the hull.
I personally think the damage to the Riva 85 Opera was done in running mode most probably at 15 knots plus.

When it rips open the hull and your junk & folding chair falls out, That was a speed hit.
Somebody was trying a mini Costa move.
