Also check out compact appliances dot com. They have some great options where space is critical. I have used a number of their products incl small storage fridge/freezers and ice makers. A fraction of the cost of "marine" products

Could not find a small side by side so went with on from Lowes with Freezer on top. Works well and price was right.

I found a GE Profile PDS 20 back in 06 it fit perfectly into the old double door refrig space only had to modify the top wood trim piece slightly to make it all work. It takes less power and the entire electronic board is easily replaced which I replaced several years later and she is still running. It's all stainless steel has an ice maker and freezer drawer on the bottom and a very nice roomy upper refrigerator that swings open. I don't know if they still make that model they probably have a compatible newer model nowadays.

very strange, I'm heading out to boat to rip out the fridge and I just signed onto YF to waste some time before beginning the project.

I have been shopping for a fridge replacement for a while.
The OEM side by side is an odd size and I cant seem to find a direct replacement.
I am planning on reinstalling an over and under.

the OEM fridge that came out seemed like it weighed 100 pounds more (maybe more) than the one I put back in.
FYI, the one that came out was a Hotpoint model #CSX20EHD
    I reinstalled an over/under Wirlpool.

My 46 Post has the galley in the salon two steps down. The fridge had to be lifted over the bar/island.
The fridge was bolted into the floor/deck and a heavy custom bracket was attached to the top.

The interior of the fridge cut out is finished teak.
The fridge outlet is in a cutout behind the microwave.

Every time I do something on the Post I am impressed with the construction.

Yeah, I pulled mine out of that tight space to fix the water valve for the ice maker. I noticed how the plumbed a drain/blow out for the icemaker water system to the lower front of the fridge...very convenient...makes winterizing a snap!

Wirlpool model #WRT318FZDM (it comes in white and stainless)

    29 1/2" Wide X 33 1/2" Deep X 65 7/8" high

NOTE: the bottom fridge door opens about 85 degrees due to sink/stove side cabinet clearance, but that is enough to access and open the lowest drawers in the fridge.

Replacing my fridge on 76 42.

In the fridge hole, there was some sort of woven fabric with what I believe once was a backing on it that was glued to the side of the hull. Now, the fabric is in a clump near the bottom, and the hull side is covered in a thick coat of rusty brown clay dust that at one time used to be the backing of this textile material.

Anyone know what it was for?

It is whats left of the backing of the carpet that was glued to the hull. I think for sound insulation. I used a vac and a wire brush to dislodge that stuff from mien. It was a nasty mess.
