    image.jpg things appear to be moving fast, especially for the Bahamas, on Normans Cay. I came across this picture on Instagram and can't believe the changes since I was there in March.

    I am glad I got to know the old Normans, and visited the abandoned resort with bullet holes in the walls. On The positive side, a 5000' runway and protected marina is going to be a welcome addition to the exumas.

    Let's just hope that like some many other bahamian project, this one gets completed!

    Hey Pascal, There's a similar opportunity, one that I wish I could do personally....Walker's Cay. Somebody bought it and held it for awhile, and now it's back on the market...I want to say (if memory serves) it's being offered at 13 million. I'd love to bring back a fishing tournament there, and not only build a world class Hotel, but build 8-12 compounds for corporate retreats, either to sell outright or put on a time share basis. I know bringing the Hatteras/Bertram shootout ain't gonna happen, but maybe market a new shootout between Viking and any Custom builds. Just came into my head...not a bad idea! Again, Norman's Cay was on the market as little as 5 years ago...just a wild guess I don't feel like getting pounded over that number....but H.G. Christie was the listing agent...and yes they have done an incredible amount of work on that property!

    That's a good looking island.
    With the oil price plummeting I would not be surprised to see the sportfishing tournaments and the market itself improve.

    I don't remember the Hurricane that wiped it out Kafue, but I guess the Owners had had enough. It's a great island, and you used to be able to clear customs there as well. It's a great deep water Marina which needs to be rebuilt completely...but what a great project it would be!

    I believe that Saddleback cay, just opposite of Norman's cay is for sell aswell.

    It is indeed very beautiful and one our must stop at in the exumas whether on charter or not, the anchorage is in the cut on the right side of the picture.

    Local attractions include

    a small cay (100' diameter, just off the edge of the picture on the right with a single palm tree, great place to watch the sunset from. Sometimes when guests arrive early enough in nassau we leave right away for normans so while they re sipping rum punch at sunset on that picture perfect little cay the realize that earlier that morning they were fighting snow on the way to the airport!

    the wreck of a DC3 that crashed in the drug running days and sitting in th shallows with the top of fuselage sticking out although after 30 years only one rib is left at the top but the wings, engines, tail and most of the fuselage is on one piece

    And miles of beaches...
