  1. 50-meter Project NOVA Sold By Heesen
The 49.80-meter superyacht known as Project NOVA currently under construction at Dutch builder Heesen has been sold! Otherwise known as Y/N17850, the all-aluminium superyacht is scheduled for delivery in the Spring of 2017. The yacht is pretty special, other than looking good, she mixes the patented Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) with hybrid propulsion! Heesen is now pretty well accustomed to working with this hull form having built the first with it as "Galactica Star", also "Azamanta" , "Sibelle" and not to forget "Alive".
  2. Galactica Star is a powerful yacht built for speed with a top speed around 28-knots but Project NOVA will focus more on efficiency with the hybrid propulsion and power sources onboard. Although NOVA is looking to comparatively sip fuel she can hit a 16.3-knot top speed if demanded. The efficiency can be seen in her burning under 100 LT per hour of fuel at 12-knots. She is expected to have trans-Atlantic range taking her time at 12-knots (3,750 nautical miles). They say she can endure 8,000 nautical miles at a continuous 8-knots but we are sure she won't be going that slowly! Look out for hull number 17850 being completed and handed over within the first half of 2017!
