  1. Bering Yachts To Launch First Bering 80 In September
Expedition and trawler yacht builder Bering Yachts are working hard on a couple projects at the moment. The Bering 80 has already taken to the water (technically) and all appears well. The first hull is anticipated to be launched in September 2015 according to Bering. This displacement yacht is part of Bering's Expedition Series and has been designed from the keel-up to be a great trans-oceanic yacht.
  2. The Bering 80 isn't part of the Expedition Series for style, she is a distance trotter! With fully laden tanks and at a conservative speed this yacht should be able to trek over 6,000 nautical miles. Maximum speed is going to be around 12-knots and cruise generally at 9-knots. Twin Cummins QSM 11 marine engines are below decks to power this expedition yacht. Full fuel capacity is for approximately 38,500 LT. The tri-deck design is typical but with a Portuguese bridge there is no problem with access to her massive bow. The aft upper deck is reserved for tender storage and served via dedicated davit. One deck above on the roof of the wheelhouse, is a comfortable sunpadded area. Aft of the mast there is just enough space to stretch out a couple of sun loungers. Accommodation for guests is mostly below deck in as many as six cabins. The owner's suite is located forward on the main deck utilizing that 25.8-foot beam. We look forward to seeing her again when she launches in September.
