  1. Christensen Goes Smaller With New Designs
Based on customer feedback, American yard Christensen Yachts has decided to give clients the option of going smaller with their builds. Christensen in recent times has been well known for building near 50-meter yachts that are just under 500 GT. To jog your memory, some of these include the recently completed "Chasseur" which won the 2017 ISS Special Achievement award in the 40-65-meter class, plus other equally worthy launches such as "D'Natalin IV", "Remember When" and "Silver Lining".
  2. Now, Christensen is giving their customers a tri-deck 42-meter and a 40-meter raised pilot house (RPH). Both yachts will be able to accommodate as many as ten guests but they will be quite different in styling. One will be classic Christensen -if you can call it that- and the other is a much more modern design. The 40-meter is the one carrying modern lines and styling which is the render being shown above. A top speed of around 18-knots using twin MTU diesels will allow her to sprint when needed. When conservatism is needed for extending the range, a continuous 10-knots should yield 2,500 nautical mile autonomy. Below is a render to show you the regular 49-meter sub 500GT yachts for comparison to the new designs.
