    Yanmar has had 28 hp diesel outboards for decades. I've never once seen one here in Fort Lauderdale

    Out in Singapore there is a company dedicated to keeping those old motors running or restoring them, the local fishermen love'em. Sadly they are on the way out these days.

    This new one seems to be a huge leap ahead in terms of sophistication and smoothness.

    50hp, 175kg, kind of heavy. A lot of boats currently running that size engine can't handle that much weight on the transom. And I expect price to be high, have to see if commercial users want to pony up for them. Cool engine though, hope it catches on and they get lighter and cheaper.
