Rising Sun left Stockholm today and I had a last glimpse when she passed my house at lunch-time. Hope to see you in Malmoe soon! :)

Yes, I like having a seaview but after being spoiled with a view over the Port of Monaco for twelve years, I didn´t really expect to see such big yachts up here in Sweden...!

So, I´ll submit another Rising Sun picture. Look at the guy hanging over the rails, gives you some idea of the headroom on this deck!

Rising Sun is still at the Lürssen yard in Bremen, due to some insiders there where some problems with the glass elements.

Might be abit slow, but Lurssen have updated their recent launches with some great shots of Rising Sun and Air (now Ice).

My guess is four propellers... She has four MTU:s with 12.000 hp each...!

Well I certainly did not see four screws in the link I posted above. However, since she has four MTU's it is a possibility? Maybe the fourth was unmounted in the image (if she does in fact has four) I think she may have four though because the 'middle' and 'right' screw looks centered and it would make sense if she had four.

I'd say four....outboard ones fwd, inboard ones aft, I think the one far right is just visible but the angles awkward. Shame those props are underwater, gorgeous looking things:)
(sorry, I'm a sucker for a sexy skewed screw)

What is the Cruising Speed for Rising Sun

She made a fine manoeuvre into Gibraltar Harbour yesterday (22.06.10) but her approach was slow. The Independence of the Seas (Cruise Ship) easily overtook her on approach.
Fine manoeuvre though with bow thruster clearly in operation.

As far as I know the higher cruising speed for "Rising Sun" is around 26 knots. I believe her top speed is 28 or 29 knots based on her load of course. She is fast! Seeing her floor it in open water is refreshing.
