Hello fellow Captain's and yacht owners,
Just purchased 40 hatteras and I was wondering where the fresh water pump is located in the engine room ?

Turn on a faucet and follow the sound. I take it you weren't present for the survey.

But seriously, it should be in the back of the engine room, outboard of the generator, next to the water heater.

No didn't get survey for boat. I bought it on auction from a savage company. I usually know where the water pump is but since it's not operating I can not hear it and its not pumping water. I have the dock water on.

Thanks for the info I'll check by the water heater.

I would if it were operating but it's not operating and I bought the boat from a salvage company with no survey.

Another question. To change the oil on the Cat 3208t (it's hard to see in the engine room) is there a pump or a hose that I connect too to pump the old oil out ?

On my 43 dc the w.p was in the compartment under the dinette table along with the a/c units

You should get to know the folks at Sam's Marine. A font of Hatteras knowledge (they are the spinoff of the parts department) and obscure parts. I think there are some owners of your boat on their forum.
Their website is their name + .com. Give 'em a call, nice folks!

Usually on 3208 cats, I think you just hook a hose right to the dipstick tube and use that to suck it out.
