Thanks Judy and Dan, for having a group of us onboard Thursday night--that was a lot of fun.

Thanks Tom, for all the great pics, especially that nighttime Cakewalk shot. Tom's photos of the very-colorful 78 Lazzara Sexy did not, unfortunately, include the most astounding aspect of that yacht--the $20K+ carbon-fiber dayhead pooper!

Thanks Carl, for dragging me around the Show all day to enable me to greatly add to my vast wealth of useless information.

As an added bonus, finally meeting Marmot and K1W1 in person was akin to seeing Batman and the Green Lantern unmasked.

Thanks everyone for the comments. As I try to get my life back in order after spending six days working the show, let me bring you more photos and witty dialogue (okay, I'll stick to the photos).
I did get a request from a member for overhead shots. Second only to taking shots from a chopper, I was able to get roof access at the Bahia Mar hotel to snap a birds-eye view of the in-water part of the show.
    Views are:
The beach - looking east, for those geographically impaired
Northward - that's the Las Olas bridge in the back
Northward - closer to the hotel
    South
Due West - along the face dock where the big boys dock. That's the city of Ft Lauderdale in the background. In the foreground are the Builders & Designers tent and Electronics Tent.

There was more flare at FLIBS than at a bell-bottom convention.

Stuck between a rock, and a rock.

    Another beautiful FLIBS model (gotcha)

It's hours before the show opens. Those Itlaians better hurry up. Probably off drinking wine somewhere.

Preview shot of Mi Sueno. The YF team toured this Trinity titan and got a few shots of her leaving the show. Wait for those.

Opening day dawned a dramatic sunrise, with the ever-present threat of rain thru the day.

The new Bertram 80 convertible, on the nose...

...And back to the aft end.

The invisible man visiting the show.

Hmmm?!?! Why so many shoes on the dock before the show opens? A ploy from a broker? Secrets unearthed here at YF.

    That is one big slide.

    Wishing it will sell, perhaps.

    Unbridled...

    ...Nosing out the competition.

Did I mention the threat of rain?

That is one interesting carrot to be dangling in front of this guy.

AJILATI in many languages means "Big Hargrave".

    Thirteen scores a ten.

About the only thing I could afford at the show.

    Another hot Boat Show Babe.

    More soon...

Here's the unveiling of the new Cabo 44, secretly hidden behind this sheer curtain.

Ah, there she is in all her glory.

If you can afford some of the yachts, you could afford one of these.

Thursday closed as it opened; lingering clouds blocking the low sun.

    Cat,
I saw that boat but did not get any shots. Most days I was working for The Triton newspaper which put out daily editions everyday during the show, so my focus was more on crew. Did spend Monday with Carl touring yachts and did get on Big Fish and fall into the shadow of Cakewalk, so will get those up soon.

Let's get to some more shots from FLIBS before FLIBS 2011 is here.

There were some issues with low tide, as in several yachts hitting bottom when coming in and still some hitting while at their slips. Here's one that sat square on her keel every morning, about 2-feet out of the water. Good time to change the zincs. No damage to this one as single wheel was protected.

Diver checking another yacht that had some damage to stabilizer wing.

Speaking of yachts coming in, M/Y Iriquios was a late arrival and had to squeeze in on Friday. Captain did a good job but many folks on the docks thought they could do better (especially those with a beer in their hand).

Was able to take shots of models, sorry not those kind, yacht models.

    Here's Spada. Very detailed build...

...With nice details on the foredeck

    Model from Vitters

    And one from Jongert

Not sure of this one, but pretty

The 145-foot Benetti M/Y Lady Sheila has a cool foredeck, with a split walkway that gave a unique lighting scheme. Only able to get a few shots before the skies opened up.

Marlow Yachts was there en-force and Carl and I had some private time with David and Barbara.

A new entry to the cat program is this Axcell Hybrid. Perfect example what dedication and passion can do. More on this later (perhps in a review).

The Pure Prairie League had nothing on this Aimee.

It was blowing pretty good on Saturday morning

Amongst the many flags flying were the Jolly Roger and cocktails. Let the games begin.

Believe it or not, Patriot is a matoryacht built by Feadship in the 80's and refitted by Derecktor a few years ago.

    Another Patriot view

    Can you name these yachts?

The blowing wind was pulling on everything

There was another yacht that squeezed in during the show. M/Y glaze (formerly Lady Michelle, I understand) needed some help as she was not under power. Three or four tougs along with a dozen or two fenders helped ease her down the way. Crew on all yachts did a great job in minimizing hull-to-hull contact. Here's a view.

And thanks for all the other photos. It helps those of us who were unable to get there this year.
