Nice... I used to love a woodie but never again. Liveaboard on a 44' Mahogany/teak Bermuda Racer in the Virgin Islands for 3 years and 30 years ago, bad idea, but it sure built character. Wooden boats are for cold waters only, love the looks and the facts that others are doing the maintenance, not me, no more, not ever again.
Dad's old Nicholson 30', built in 1938 but only completed after the war, is still sailing the Caribbean. It does help if you own your own yacht restoration yard though!
Only Dad did the work onboard, he wouldn't let any other wood butcher near it. Some young idiot did all the varnishing and painting.
I love woodies but it's way too much work in tropical waters thanks to the teredo worms which ole Chris Columbus also discovered. So i built this.... strip planked above WL, divinicel foam core structure and hull below water line. The west red cedar planking glassed inside and outside. I got the look without the worries
Love well preserved lumber! My all time favorite was Typhoon... http://www.yachtforums.com/threads/gar-woods-typhoon-re-creation.9198/#post-3204
