I have twin 302 on my Carver, having issues with the port side stalling out when put in reverse. I would like to wire up two lights to warn me when one or the other stalls.

How about looking at the tachometer?

+1. Not only will it tell you when you've stalled; it'll tell you when you're about to. I've run boats where that's happened. When it's about to stall I'd drop it in neutral for a couple seconds for the revs to come up, then drop it back into reverse. Best of all though, how about getting it fixed. Had a transient come into a marina I ran whose engine did the same thing. First time it happened I dealt with it. The second time he came in and it happened he was asked not to come back again until it was fixed.
