Thank you for these photos Lars!
She just came from Bremen where extensive and complex repair/correction work was carried out by Lürssen. So they can use now the entire dock for their next project!

    So how come.........

Does anyone know why Lurssen is doing repairs and warranty work (?) for B&V?

    I thought they were competitors.

That's what I get for thinking............

    Won't happen again, I promise.

B&V tried 3times to clean up their mess but failed every time and did not want to try complex way. So "MQIV" went to Lürssen.

The tender garage doors are engineered badly and in fact the problems just were recognized when she was already delivered. I was told that the garage was so engineered that the davits had problems to launch the (rescue)tender properly. (She had fold down doors)

So Lürssen removed the existing doors and replaced them with conventional doors you find on many yachts for the tenders (the big hatch) and a integrated fold-down hatch which can be used as an balcony on sea level. Truly a masterpieces of Lürssen engineering and a pretty unique feature.
You can see it on Lars second photo.

She also had some minor issues. I hope this explained your question.

    Hi,

Once you have taken delivery of a yacht you can take it anywhere you want to carry out repairs.

Just as once you won a car it doesn't always have to go back to the supplying dealer especially once warranty is done.

I doubt there was much if anything outstanding in way warranty works given her age.

B and V and Lurssens are competitors in the business as are many other yacht builders.
