As we are now looking into a 1997 Hatteras 50 Convertible which I thought had 8 92s, it has come up that the boat indeed has 1292s. I wasnt aware they offered this package. Comments please as we are very interested in the boat and dont want to get into a bind by buying a package that didnt work out.

I ran a 54' that had 12v92's DDEC's. The motors were majored by a DD dealer at 952 hours. I ran the boat at 1932 hours, and the port engine had blown on seatrial/survey. So in this boat they were 950hr motors. Otherwise the boat was immaculate and very well taken care of.

The 50' hatteras hull is I believe the same as up to 2005 or so. I might be mistaken. But they powered the newer ones with C18 CATS, and they cruised right around 30 knots. You'd be pushing the 50' easier with 12v92's than 8v92s........The 50 I ran was a 2004 with C18's, with the 200 gallon bow tank full it pounded, once that was empty and the main drained a little it started riding pretty good.......The older 53's ran pretty good.....
