Not that unusual a step at all. Quite common at the end of contracts. Vendor feels more owed, buyer disputes it. Buyer takes item and leaves, in this case leaves with boat, difficult to collect when you're in different jurisdictions. Vendor uses the law to arrest or otherwise detain the item until balance paid or settled. Settlement normally comes quickly after although one recent US builder that went bankrupt had kept one boat detained in their yard for two years. The yard, in the case of A, had to proceed with the arrest or collecting would have cost them many times what it did, if possible at all. It's why yards in South Florida are very careful to not let boats leave before yard bills settled in full, why boat shippers won't ship until paid in full. Picture Florida yard, Brazilian boat. Boat leaves with $1 million unpaid and disputed. What are the odds they'll ever collect?

That catamaran tender that S/Y "A" has is very very interesting...quite a minimalist design.

Makes a lot of sense, thanks for pointing that out.

Thanks for the update, lets see if we will get any decent status updates and photos from there, There won't be any exterior work other than outdoor furniture etc I'm assuming. I wonder how much of the interior is incomplete or is this strictly furniture?

Most yards here in Ft Lauderdale adhere to this policy "No cash-No splash" Meaning, if the vessel is on hard, it doesn't get wet until the bill is paid in full. Many other ways of keeping the vessel from moving, such as removing the props, etc.

I would guess strictly getting furniture in place etc. It is actually supposed to be handed over to the owner in late spring.. so we will see.

A look back at when she raised her sail the first time... and you can see some of the deck areas a bit more clear in this video.

You get to see her from some interesting angles in the Cartagena video, but unfortunately she's ugly from all of them...

Spherically ugly - ugly from any direction!

Thanks for posting that, not an easy boat to dock for the crew I guess, the fender work alone is a like science:)

I can tell you what I like, it is the way all portholes are flush and with a finish so you can hardly see them. This is something I hope to see on other boats, where many today look like they have been in a war-zone, with big black holes randomly all over the place...
