This is the first time I've posted on a Yacht Forum. Its better to ask for help than to sit back and wait for the stone to be worn down.

Let me give you guys a few details before I ask the questions. Always better to inform all the details to get better responses.

A Deck Navigation Officer (That's what they designate it these days... ), working for a Container Cargo Fleet as a third mate with an Unlimited Second Mate OOW CoC. I have all the STCW Certificates upgraded to 2010 to cut all the hassles and have a C1/D Visa for a US visit should it be required. Medicals are in order with Panama/Liberian requirements.

I've sailed for 4 years now since my cadet-ship and I currently reside in India. I came across the idea of switching to maritime luxury since it definitely offers a better experience than the monotonous cargo shipping life. However, I've contacted over a dozen requirement firms across different countries and sent my resume to even more yachting firms but my attempts have been futile.

Which brings me the ever pondering question: Is it even possible to switch???

I hope this question should it arise to others in the future about the switch, would lead them to this thread and inform them about the procedure and requirements for the switch. If I happen to come across any advances, I shall reply to this thread myself and keep it updated.

    Thanks and Cheers !
