let's get this straight Most of the so-called superyachts today are a testimonium of non-design. All look almost the same, no innovation or progress. Nothing more boring these days than a marina in the South of France - my place. The megalo-trend is leading nowhere, suffice to see Octopus sitting in a berth that's twice too small, towering above anything around her, even the city walls. Quite surprising that new-ideas don't break through? No, big yachting today is about keeping up, or building bigger than the Jones's.
I agree, there is no spectacular outside view of the ship, but I never have seen a ship with such generous inside space. The ceiling height is in many large rooms more then 4m. I don't like large yachts with a ceiling height of about 2.25m, it don't correspond to the square meters of the single rooms.
I can agree with you on that. On the 100 m study I call "B L I N G" on the Forums, the main deck where this boat is as widest, the ceiling is about 4 meters as well. Both to get the right proportions and to allow more daylight coming in towards the center of the rooms. Another nice feature I have seen is on the 62 meter Feadship Virginian where they have slightly vaulted ceilings to get an airy and marine feeling in the main saloon.
After the sale of the yacht last November, it was lying in Abu Dhabi, with its new Cayman Island flag. It moved in early August to Greece, presumably for some refit at the same yard near Athens where they refit Al Miqab, in Elefsina. It now lies in Marina Flisvos, but unfortunately seems to remain as unused as it has been the last few years. The new pictures in MT do not show any changes. The mistery surrounding this yacht continues.
