Oceanco Y-702 Superstructure Debut!

On April 15th 2006, less than twelve months after her keel was laid, Y-702’s hull and superstructure were ready to be transferred to the oceAnco facility.

Later that day, the superstructure was positioned on the hull before the yacht was transported to the quay at the oceAnco facility in Alblasserdam. She was carefully lifted out of the water, in her cradles; where after heavy lift multiwheels were used to move her into the building shed. Final outfitting commenced immediately on Y-702 in anticipation of her summer 2007 delivery.

Y-702 is currently in the shed alongside the Y-701, 80m and it is truly an impressive view. Stunning lines and striking volumes already characterise this new oceAnco yacht, which is a proud new member of the existing large yacht fleet.

Here, the two halves are resting on a barge, waiting to be lifted and placed on top of the hull, seen in the forefront of this photograph...

The forward section is lifted into place...

Working through the day and into the night, the aft section of the superstructure is lifted from the barge while workers prepare to position the module over the hull...

And finally, the alignment and setting stage begins of the aft section...
