"Eos", 305' sailboat on fire in Norway

    Hi,

    It sounds as though it was pretty exciting.

    No one on-board was hurt which is a good thing.

    The boat had just finished a major refit in Holland and the Owner had been on-board a few hours into his cruise.

    She will no doubt be heading to a yard to rectify the minor damage she has suffered.

    Interestingly, I am told no flames were seen just a lot of smoke.

    Fire lasted about 5 hrs apparently. Smoke damage can be extensive.

    In the picture from the second link it seems the aft starboard side of the top deck? Maybe a tender?

    Smoke can be seen coming from the ceiling panels.
    The local fire mashal says the damage is extensive and all 18 onboard has been evacuated.
    The fire was put out at 20:15 local time yesterday.
