  1. Classic-Styled 32.7-meter "Far Niente" Launched
Ever so often a rebuild of existing classic yachts re-emerges from refit. However, it is still fairly rare to see one that was purpose-built to look like a classic in current times emerge from a builder. Well this is the case with the 32.7-meter "Far Niente" built by SES Yachts. It is a 1900s styled classic yacht with lines thanks to Hoek Design. In fact they are responsible for the Naval Architecture, exterior and interior of Far Niente.
  2. The design was inspired by Dutch Herring luggers of the early 1900s and if you cast your minds back to another fairly recent completion by Turquoise Yachts - "Blue II"- you can even see some acquired characteristics. Far Niente was built under yard number '52' and has three decks above the waterline and can sleep a minimum of 10 guests as she has 5 cabins. The master suite is situated on the forward main deck while the other four cabins comprise of two twins and two doubles on the lower deck. The layout is more-or-less what you would expect to find on the average yacht with the main saloon and dining area on the main deck, a small skylounge on the upper deck behind the wheelhouse and al-fresco areas on deck.
  3. A single engine powers the vessel connected to a single propeller and single rudder. Top speed is anticipated at around 11-knots, she's not a sprinter! She will easily take you over 3,000 nautical miles at cruising speed with a highly-efficient round-bilge hull. 3,750 nautical miles is the indicated range of the vessel. Even though the vessel was made to look like it was built 100 years ago it will have the latest technology onboard inclusive of creature comforts like stabilizers and both bow and stern thrusters to make the captain's job much easier. Completion should be for later this year.
